From Passion to Purpose: My Journey Into Travel

Travel has never just been about destinations for me — it has always been a feeling, a calling, and a part of who I am.

My name is Tamara Milwood, and long before ASPIRA – Independent Travel Agency was born, I had what I can only describe as a nomadic spirit. I’ve always been drawn to exploring, discovering new places, and experiencing the world beyond the everyday.

But what started as a love for travel soon became something more.

It all began with something simple — helping family and friends plan their vacations. I found joy in researching destinations, comparing options, and making sure every detail came together perfectly. There was something incredibly fulfilling about seeing their excitement turn into unforgettable experiences.

Before I knew it, word began to spread.

Soon, I was planning trips not just for family and friends, but for church members attending local and international conventions, organizing group travel to destinations like Disney World, and even assisting corporate offices with their travel arrangements.

What started as helping a few people quickly grew into something much bigger.

For over two decades, I have been a dedicated and passionate booking agent, and I can honestly say — I still love it just as much today.

There’s a unique thrill in finding the best deals, creating the right travel experience for each person, and solving what others may see as complicated or challenging bookings. In fact, I’ve never been one to shy away from a challenge — I embrace it.

Every trip is different. Every client is unique. And that’s what makes this journey so rewarding.

Today, through ASPIRA, I continue to do what I love — helping people travel with ease, confidence, and excitement.
